Outlook Fails to Send & Receive Emails Automatically.

Users must understand that Outlook does not automatically sends or receive emails. User will have to manually intitate the process in the application. But sometimes the automatic sending and receiving process gets blocked without any intervention even after the initiation. Such problem can occur due to the damaged Send/Receive group of Outlook. The error can occur in any version of the application preventing the updation of mailbox. Users had to continuously update their inbox to check for the new mail which is quite irritating in its kind. The error should be fixed as soon as possible to provide user automated updation of the mailbox.



      


This problem occurs due to damaged Send/Receive group of Outlook. So to fix the problem user will have to create new send/Receive group in Outlook. The steps are very simple and mentioned below:

  • For Outlook 2010.
  • Launch Outlook and click on “File” -> “Options”.
  • Then click “Advanced” tab.
  • Click on “Send/Receive” under “Find Send and Receive” section.
  • Click the group then “Copy” under “Group Name” section.
  • Type new name for group under “Send/Receive Group Name” section and click OK.
  • Click the old group name under “Group Name” section.
  • Clear the check box of “Include this group in Send/receive (F9)” from “When Outlook is Online” and “When Outlook is Offline” section.
  • Click “Close” and restart Outlook.



For other Outlook versions, the steps are mentioned below:

  • Launch Outlook and click on “Tools” -> “Send/Receive Settings” -> “Define Send/Receive Groups”.
  • Click the group then “Copy” under “Group Name” section.
  • Type new name for group under “Send/Receive Group Name” section and click OK.
  • Click the old group name under “Group Name” section.
  • Clear the check box of “Include this group in Send/receive (F9)” from “When Outlook is Online” and “When Outlook is Offline” section.
  • Click “Close” and restart Outlook.



There is slight chances of PST file corruption. But when that happens then the complete inbox becomes inaccessible. In such case user can use inbuilt repair utility ScanPST.exe tool and if it fails to fix the problem then go for third party tool. Third party automatic Outlook PST repair tool will definitely fix the problem.
